While on my weekend spiritual retreat, I wandered around the property soaking up the peace, quiet, tranquility, with the sounds of nature refreshing my soul. I saw this lamp post and knew it needed to be preserved before it fell or was taken down.
As were entering the public beach my Great Nephew Lucas spied a baby frog and captured it in his hands. He was very gentle and protective of it so it wouldn’t be frightened while in his hands. It stayed for a few minutes then Lucas put it back safely on the ground where it wouldn’t get stepped on. He loves and is really gentle with animals and his little brother as well!
I saw this as I was driving over the bridge at the cottage. I was homeward bound but the sight of the ice floating in patches, the reflection of the flag and tree in the channel were compelling me to stop and capture them, so I did!
This was taken at The Pumphouse in Grimsby Ontario. If it had been a clear day I would have seen Toronto across Lake Ontario from where I stood. It was very cold with a wind chill of -20, so I didn’t stay long.
I wonder what this tree’s story is! It is surrounded by lots of other trees so I don’t feel it was weather that could have caused this tree to have such an unusual growth pattern. It is a mystery that will not be solved. It is a healthy tree with branches and leaves near the top.
As I was walking along the shore of the lake I saw the sun reflected in the water in this most unusual way. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to capture how it sparkled on the water since it was moving, but happily it worked out.
